Free school holiday activities for the entire family.

Bookings are required for some events. Places are limited. To book, scan the QR code, visit our Library Events Calendar or pop into your local library branch.

Note: Children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the activity.

Storytime at the Gallery

Enjoy a special Storytime with a craft activity led by the tam at the Latrobe Regional Gallery

Big Summer Read Fun Day

Sign up to the Big Summer Read campaign, choose a book or three,  create your own fruit smoothie on our Blender Bike, collect your swap cards!

Family Movie

Online and board games galore! This session is aimed at young people aged 8 to 20 years. Competitions will be separated into appropriate age groups. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult for the duration of the event.

It's the Chinese Year of the Snake this year! Come and learn all about snakes and reptiles in this safe, educational environment.

Chinese Storytime

Celebrate the Chinese Year of the Snake with a special bilingual Storytime. There will be stories and songs in English and Mandarin.  All welcome!

The Librarian: A bookish circus adventure

Thursday 26 September| 11am & 1pm |  GPAC  Little Theatre

At first glance, Paul-Émile Dumoulin seems like just a regular librarian. He is serious, proud and very orderly. Every book is in its place on his impeccable shelves.  The only problem? As soon as Paul-Émile gets his nose in a book, reality disappears, giving way to the slightly crazy worlds he discovers between the pages.

My Life as a Tree Frog: A drama workshop for ages 8 -10+

Seek and Find

Bring your family to the gallery for an exciting and free activity that will turn your visit into an adventure! Seek & Find is a scavenger hunt designed for families to explore the gallery and engage with art in a fun and playful way. Embark on a quest to uncover specific artworks throughout the gallery. You only get one clue, so you’ll need to look carefully!

The Stables

Daily during opening hours until Sunday 27 October

Step into The Stables, the enchanting and immersive play space designed especially for kids at our gallery! This delightful area invites young visitors to explore, imagine, and create in a magical environment inspired by horses.

Horse Craft

Monday 23 September: 1pm to 2.30pm

Let your imagination run wild at this Horse Craft workshop for kids! Do something creative for the school holidays and join us for an exciting workshop where kids will create and decorate a horse make out of simple craft materials.

Recommended ages: 4 to 12 years. Free.

Rhinestone Rodeo

Tuesday 24 September: 10.30am to 12.30pm

Saddle up for a sparkling adventure at Rhinestone Rodeo! During school holidays, we invite kids to join us for a fun-filled workshop where they’ll decorate denim tote bags with dazzling sparkle, sequins, and horses. Inspired by the horse theme in our exhibition Horse Girl Energy, this creative event promises glittering excitement and artistic expression.

Recommended ages: 4 to 12 years. Free.
