Supported Playgroup

Supported playgroups provide eligible families and children opportunities to learn and grow through play with the support of an early years professional.

  • Increases the quality of your interactions with your children
  • Encourages play in the home
  • Connects you with like-minded parents and local services
  • Supports self-care (stress management and supportive services)

Eligible families with children under five years are welcome to attend. Each playgroup operates two hours per week for 10 weeks (school terms). Eligibility includes health care card holders, kinship carers, Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islanders, and people who are currently using or have accessed DFFH or family support services. Please contact 1300 367 700 if you are unsure about your eligibility.

The 10-week parenting program smalltalk and in-home support are incorporated into our sessions, with support to transition into suitable community groups/services at the end of participation.

In-Home Support is also offered to assist eligible parents of young children. This service provides one-on-one support from a qualified facilitator who meets face-to-face with you. Each session goes for 1.5 hours. You can attend a supported playgroup and receive in-home support.
