When you shop at Marino Deli, be prepared to leave with more goodies than you intended to buy.
The unique store is a special find in the heart of Morwell, with all the favourites one would expect from a traditional deli – plus a little more.
Operated by brothers Con and Michael Mavrofridis, Marino Deli stocks a delectable variety of Gippsland products, such as sourdough bread by Gippsland Wild Yeast Bakery, cheese by Maffra Cheese and meats from Garfield Smokehouse.
“My favourite product is a 12-year-old balsamic vinegar and I would also recommend customers sample our large selection of cured meats, cheeses, antipasto and various international dry goods,” Con said.
The duo took over the existing business in November 2019, and continue to cater to the large clientele base of locals and customers from surrounding towns, all of varying nationalities.
“Having a great array of different nationalities makes Latrobe City unique and is one of the benefits of running a business here,” Con said.
The COVID pandemic has failed to dampen trade at Marino Deli, but the broader impact of this challenging time has not been lost on Con.
“We have now become more adaptable and reactive to how our day-to-day business operates, and have come to expect the unexpected.
“People can support us by choosing us as a local supplier, which gives the consumer a more unique and personalised service. Also, we hope they will have a good experience at our store and share that with others.”
Marino Deli is located at 20-22 Church Street, Morwell, and is open to the public as per regular hours, despite the COVID pandemic.
