Project Update: Kernot Hall Redevelopment - Stage 1
About the project
The project will see accessibility upgrades to the main hall and stage, construction of a new connection between the existing kitchen and foyer, foyer refurbishment, upgrades to the bathroom amenities, three new meeting rooms, and improved acoustics in the main hall.
Location
The project will be delivered at Kernot Hall on Princes Drive in Morwell.
Project Delivery
Latrobe City Council is delivering this project in partnership with the Victorian Government.
Project Timeline
The contract for the construction works has been awarded to local contractor Langden Constructions. Works are expected to begin in December 2022 and be completed by mid to late 2023. Every effort will be made to minimise the impacts to the community during the construction works. Working hours will restricted to between 7.00am to 6.00pm from Monday to Friday (except in special circumstances).
What to Expect
Fencing has now been erected around the work site with preliminary works commencing in the lead up to Christmas. Access to parking and the surrounding precint will see minimal impact, with no ongoing changes. During construction there will be additional activity in the area, and Kernot Hall will be closed for bookings.
