Mayor's Message
Last week we had the opportunity to showcase the Latrobe Aerospace Technology Precinct at the Avalon 2023 Australian International Airshow.
We were at Avalon with senior aerospace, aviation, space and defence industry, military and government decision-makers from around the world.
The Latrobe Aerospace Technology Precinct was promoted as an investment opportunity for businesses in the sector. The precinct is located at the Latrobe Regional Airport in Morwell and has the capacity to enable trial and testing of advanced air mobility technologies and craft.
A new partnership between Latrobe City Council and Swinburne University of Technology was also announced during the Airshow. The arrangement aims to build the foundations of new technologies in advanced air mobility for the region and develop green aviation solutions to address real world challenges.
Attending opportunities such as the Avalon Airshow is an opportunity to highlight the strengths of our region and the possibilities for new industries that build on existing facilities and established workforce here.
Anyone wanting to learn more about the precinct and further opportunities can visit Council’s website: www.latrobe.vic.gov.au/lra
