Mayor's Message
As we reach the end of 2022, I would like to reflect on and acknowledge the kindness, support and connection that brings our community together, along with some key milestones reached by Council this year.
What stands out to me is the true community spirit that exists in Latrobe City. As we have continued to work through the ongoing challenges of the pandemic, our community has remained focused and committed to looking out for each other.
It has also been wonderful to see the return of so many community events over the past year, providing an opportunity to connect and celebrate
the best of our city. I would like to thank all of the organisations and groups for warmly welcoming me to share in these events.
2022 saw the adoption of Living Well Latrobe, Latrobe City Council’s Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan (MPHWP) 2021-2025. Living Well Latrobe is a four-year plan, which details how Council will work with the community and our partners to maintain and improve everyone’s health and well-being in our community. Living Well Latrobe will be a guide for the work of other plans, strategies and actions developed by Council and supports the application of health and wellbeing principles in all the work we do.
This year also marks the first year of reporting for our 2021-2025 Council Plan and Community Vision. Council is committed to delivering on our community’s priorities and recognising our goal to be known as a smart, creative, healthy, sustainable and connected city. Council will continue to advocate for our community’s goals and needs to enhance our regional city’s liveability, economy and overall health and well-being, particularly as we navigate our ongoing economic transition.
I would like to thank Deputy Mayor Cr Dan Clancey, my Councillor colleagues and Latrobe City staff for their support and commitment to our community and the goals we share through the delivery of the Council Plan. We look forward to seeing where the next 12 months take us as we continue this work, ensuring our community’s needs are front of mind.

Traralgon Car Parking Review - User Survey
Latrobe City has commenced a review of the car parking supply and utilisation within the Traralgon Activity Centre. As part of this process, we would like to hear from users of the activity centre to better understand how people access, move around, and spend their time in the activity centre.
We are conducting a town centre visitation and car parking survey until Friday 20 January 2023.

Alternatively, hard copies will be available at both the Morwell and Traralgon Service Centres and Libraries or can be mailed out on request by contacting the Strategic Planning Department of Latrobe City Council.

Latrobe City Council will be Running Limited Services During the Festive Season
Service Centres & Libraries
Latrobe City Council corporate headquarters and libraries will close on Friday 23 December. Libraries reopen at 8.30am and Latrobe City Council corporate headquarters reopens at 9am on Tuesday 3 January 2023.
Visitor Information Centre
Located inside Gippsland Performing Arts Centre, the Visitor Information Centre is open 7 days a week from 10am to 4pm except Christmas Day.
The centre stocks a range of local maps and brochures as well as information on other regions throughout Victoria. They also offer Australian and locally made gifts.

Early Learning Centres
Traralgon, Moe and Carinya Early Learning Centres will close at 12.30pm on Friday 23 December and reopen at 7.30am on Monday 16 January 2023.

Restricted hours during Christmas and New Year period. Please contact the central booking number on 5128 6128, should you need an appointment.
Lost or Stray Animals
If you find a lost or stray animal, please call the emergency after hours number 1300 367 700. Normal pound operating hours will resume Tuesday 3 January 2023.
For injured wildlife, please contact Wildlife Victoria on 03 8400 7300.
Impounded Pets
The pound is open for the release of impounded pets from 10am to 12 noon on Tuesday 27 December and 12noon - 2pm on Friday 30 December from Driffield Road, Morwell. Please note, EFTPOS only for release fees, no cash.
Outside of the advertised open days, we will meet your request for release if there are urgent circumstances.
Non-urgent release requests will be considered. Please call 1300 367 700.
