Mayor's Message

Many new kindergarten students started their first days at kinder this week with the return of Term One.

This is an exciting time for parents and children but also for our early learning staff who were ready to welcome students for the new year.

It was particularly exciting for those starting at Morwell Park Kindergarten, which opened its doors for the first time last Tuesday.

I was fortunate enough to visit the kindergarten and was blown away by what had been created and now is on offer.

The kindergarten provides the perfect mix of beautiful and functional facilities that is a wonderful environment for younger generations to begin their learning journey while also making new friends.

I know many children would be happily using the new sandpits, water pump play area, outdoor space and calm zones ready for them to enjoy.

Morwell Park is one of 25 kindergartens that Council provides across Latrobe City to support the development of our young community. It is a service we are extremely proud to provide and personally is close to my own heart.

I cannot wait to see all the fun and wonderful learning opportunities our youngest students will have.
