Latrobe City Libraries will host a series of free podcast workshops at the Moe Library in July and August, to teach users how to make recordings that get noticed.
Mayor of Latrobe City Council, Councillor Kellie O’Callaghan, said the podcast studio at Moe Library was launched in February this year.
“The library has a brand-new studio with state-of-the-art equipment and we want our community to learn how to use it. We know there are stories to be shared and ideas to be broadcast and these workshops are the perfect way to ensure that individuals and groups can investigate podcasting as a channel for their voices,” said the Mayor.
“The workshops will be facilitated by the library team and will cover the basics of what a podcast is, sessions to plan and how to record, edit and release podcasts.
“The library setting is a safe, inclusive, friendly space where learning is for everyone. We are excited to bring this new opportunity to our community.”
Podcast Workshops will run at Moe Library on Wednesday evenings, 19 and 26 July, 2 and 9 August from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. The workshops are free, but places are limited. Bookings are required. For more information and to book, visit www.latrobe.vic.gov.au/library or your local library branch.
No previous podcasting experience is required, the library team will guide community members through all aspects of podcasting.
