Nominations for Latrobe City Council’s Australia Day Awards 2025 are now open.
The Australia Day Awards pay tribute to individuals and groups who have made outstanding contributions to the community. Any individual or community group can make a nomination and all eligible nominees are acknowledged.
Mayor of Latrobe City Council, Councillor Darren Howe, encouraged people to use the awards as an opportunity to shine a light on special people in our City.
“We all know an individual or community group who is deserving of some extra recognition. I encourage you to keep these people in mind and submit your nomination for Council’s Australia Day Awards,” said the Mayor.
“Australia Day Awards are a tribute to people who are always willing to lend a helping hand or go the extra mile in their community. Show these people some gratitude and nominate them in their relevant category.”
Now is your chance to nominate the person or group you would like to see receive an award for:
- Citizen of the Year
- Senior of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year
- Community Event of the Year
- Community Service of the Year
Latrobe City Council administers the Australia Day Awards on behalf of the National Australia Day Council of Victoria.
Council will also host Australia Day events on 26 January 2025 across the municipality. These events will be announced closer to the day.
