Latrobe City Council supports community organisations through a range of grant programs.
Council’s Community Grants Program – Round Two opened on Monday 20 January 2025 and closes 24 February 2025. There are six Community Grant streams open for application: Capital Works – Minor, Capital Works – Major, Community Wellbeing, Community Events – Minor, Community Events – Major and Community Essentials – Quick Response Grant. This program provides funding to support the recreational, social and cultural needs of the Latrobe City community.
Council’s Social Inclusion Action Group (SIAG) Grants are also now open and close on 7 February 2025. The Community Connector Grants provide up to $5000 to projects to improve social connection, inclusion and wellbeing in the community.
To help community members learn about which streams suit their needs, and how to maximise their chance of a successful application, Council is holding free information sessions in January and February and delivering grant writing workshops from March to December 2025.
Latrobe City Council Mayor, Councillor Dale Harriman recommends that anyone interested in applying for a grant consider attending the information and workshop sessions, so that their application meets requirements.
“Whether you are part of a community group, sporting club or local organisation, there are funding opportunities available to support your projects,” said the Mayor.
“Our information sessions and workshops are a great opportunity to learn more about the grants available and a chance to connect and network with other community members, so I highly recommend heading along to one of the sessions.”
