Domestic Animal Business

Council administer Domestic Animal Business (DAB) registrations and compliance in line with the Domestic Animals Act 1994 and relevant Codes of Practice and report back to Agriculture Victoria. Domestic Animal Businesses must be registered with Council and are subject to an annual audit and renewal.

Types of businesses are:

Annual fee for Domestic Animal Business renewals and new applications is currently $281 with no concession entitlement. An additional fee is payable each year at time of audit for Breeding and Rearing establishments, currently $29 per adult animal audited. Fees are subject to change on 1 July every year.

The DAB registration year aligns with Victoria’s animal registration year and permits are due for renewal every April 10.  Currently registered Domestic Animal Businesses will receive a renewal notice with payment options prior to 9 April each year.
