Live music makes a big comeback this summer with a series of outdoor events in Victory Park at the AGL Loy Yang Sound Shell.

Latrobe Performing Arts Centre presents ‘Summer Sessions’ a way to welcome you back to after a long time away.

These free family friendly events will feature Gippsland’s finest musicians, many who took to the stage during our popular LPA Online series.

You can expect to see a blend of folk, rock, pop, country and bluegrass in a laid-back setting with some very special guests by popular demand!

Bring a takeaway dinner from one of Traralgon’s many nearby restaurants and eateries, pack a picnic rug and chair, and cap off your weekend with live music in the lush surrounds of Victory Park.

Act 1: Mel Pollard

Mel Pollard, with a voice described as “bluesy, ballsy and full of soul”, is a captivating and engaging performer with a style that is all her own. A well-regarded songwriter in her own right, she is also well known for putting her own spin on cover songs from all genres and eras and making them her own.

Act 2: Strzelecki Stringbusters

The Strzelecki Stringbusters; a 14-piece band that lives, works and plays in the hills around the Strzelecki Ranges. Featuring guitar, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, fiddle, double bass and harmonica to play many styles of music from bluegrass and western swing to country and the blues. They play a large number of events in support of their wider community.

Act 3: The Davidson Brothers

The Davidson Brothers grew up in Yinnar, with 8 albums under their belt they have built a reputation for being one of Australia’s hottest bluegrass acts they have toured extensively throughout Australia, Europe and America. As multi-instrumentalists on banjo, fiddle, mandolin & dobro these great entertainers have enormous respect for the traditions of the genre.
