The purpose of the biennial Gippsland Sculpture Exhibition (GSE) and associated activities, is to showcase over 120 entries of interior and exterior works over a six week period, where prize money is awarded by a panel of judges across a number of categories.
Interior sculptures will be exhibited in the main gallery of the Art Resources Collective (arc Yinnar). Exterior entries will be spread along Yinnar's Main Street and Jumbuck Road.
On Sunday's during the exhibition, art workshops will be conducted, music will be played in the Yinnar Centenary Park and social and sporting clubs will conduct fundraising BBQ'S.
During the week days of the exhibition related art projects are conducted by local schools, to add to the unique atmosphere of the event.
The GSE also aims to:
- Work with the Gippsland community to promote art, artistic pursuits and enhance skills in the community
- Promote community connectivity and inclusiveness and increase health and well being
- Nurture community resilience, adaptability and sustainability
- Increase tourism and economic activity through promoting Yinnar as the Sculpture Culture capital of Gippsland.
We continue to work and partner with many organisations and businesses locally, including the YDCA, Yinnar Lions Club, Yinnar Bowling Club, arc Yinnar, Yinnar Primary School and Yinnar RSL, and have strong support through Latrobe City Council.
