International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality. International Women's Day has occurred for well over a century, with the first International Women's Day gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. International Women's Day belongs to you. International Women's Day is not a country, group or organisation specific.
There are over 39,000 women living in Latrobe, and International Women’s Day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate their diverse lives, contributions and achievements. There are “A Million Ways to be a Woman”, and there are a million ways to be inspired and empowered by women.
