ANZAC Day Services
Youth Councillors attended a range of ANZAC Day services across Latrobe City to pay their respect to those who gave their lives for our country.
Latrobe City Community Engagement Project
Youth Councillors completed Council’s ‘Have A Say’ survey and provided ideas on how to involve and engage young people in Council’s decision making process.
Traralgon Activity Centre Plan Project Youth Consultation
Youth Councillors joined with the Latrobe City Youth Leadership Program participants to provide input into the Traralgon Activity Centre Plan Project Community Consultation. Youth Council will continue to be involved in the development process for this project.
Morwell Skate Park Consultation
Youth Councillors canvassed views of a broad range of local young people and encouraged feedback about the eight potential sites for the establishment of a new skate park in Morwell.
Sister Cities Australian National Conference in Rockhampton
Five Youth Councillors attended the annual Sister Cities Australia National Conference in Rockhampton in July to learn more about sister city relationships, discuss youth engagement, and build networks with other young leaders across Australia. Twenty youth delegates participated in several skill development workshops including – ‘How to make a boring message fun’ and the development of a Sister Cities Australia youth delegates webpage ‘sistercities2010.grou.ps’.
Youth Info Card
Youth Council is currently working on the final stages for the development and production of the Youth Info card which details contact information about local support agencies and services for young people aged 12-21 in Latrobe City. The wallet sized card will also provide a range of discounts and privileges.
Other highlights to date:

Regular meetings with the Latrobe City Mayor, Kellie O’Callaghan, to discuss youth related issues.

Attendance at Ordinary Council Meetings and a quarterly dinner with the Latrobe City Councillors and Executive Team members.
