Latrobe City Landfill

Latrobe City Council operates a landfill for disposal of waste that cannot be recycled. The landfill accepts waste from waste transport companies and is not open to the public. Latrobe City transfer stations continue to operate for public use in Traralgon, Moe, Morwell and Yinnar.

The protection of our environment, with its unique flora and fauna is one of the foremost challenges facing our community. Latrobe City has an excellent record of environmental responsibility and Council is committed to ensuring that all decision-making processes and procedures take full account of the environmental, social, and economic impact factors.

In selecting and developing a landfill site, Council has undertaken a process which is determined to protect our environment for the enjoyment of future generations. The landfill site is a critical part of our community's waste management infrastructure. The siting and design of the landfill facility has been completed to ensure that the environment is protected and community expectations are met.
