Latrobe City Council is responsible for the maintenance and continuing development of approximately 1,486km of roads and associated infrastructure including bridges, footpaths, kerbs and stormwater drainage. This work is the responsibility of the City Infrastructure Division, more specifically the unit for Infrastructure Maintenance, Infrastructure Development, and Outdoor Maintenance.
VicRoads are responsible for Freeways, Highways, Forest Roads and Tourist Roads, as well as the bridges associated with them (View the list of roads and bridges), any problems/defects on these roads or bridges should be passed on to VicRoads by phoning: 131 170.

There are 71 bridges throughout the City that Council are responsible for maintaining. These consist of 16 timber and 41 concrete road bridges and 14 pedestrian bridges.
Council is currently developing a rehabilitation program for replacing components or timber bridges with steel or concrete.
