Infringement Notices

What to do if you receive an infringement

  • You have 28 days to pay the fine
  • Or you can apply for an internal review (see how to contest fines).
  • Or you can elect to go to court

How to pay your fines

There are several payment options which include the following:

In Person

Hours of payment are 8.30am to 5.15pm Monday to Friday.

Present the infringement notice at one of the following offices:
Albert Street, Moe
Commercial Road, Morwell
Kay Street, Traralgon
Phillip Parade, Churchill (11am-6pm)

Payment can be made by cash, cheque, EFTPOS or credit card.

Online

Visit https://www.bpoint.com.au/epages/latrobecitycouncil.sf for credit card payments
(Visa or Mastercard only).

This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week commencing three business days after the date of the fine.

*Bpoint will not recognise an infringement once the due date has lapsed.

By Phone

Call 1300 276 468 to make a payment (Visa or Mastercard only)
Enter biller code; 3003626 and have the infringement number ready.

By mail

Make cheque/money order payable to LATROBE CITY COUNCIL crossed “not negotiable”.

Mail the payment with the infringement notice to

PO Box 264
MORWELL VIC 3840

Do not send cash.

Payment Plan

Should you be having difficulty making the payment in full, complete and return the application for a payment plan for an infringement  within 28 days from the date the infringement was issued.

Please note:
A payment plan will not be accepted if it is under $100.00 unless a Centrelink pension or concession card number is provided.

Nominate a driver

If you were not in charge of the motor vehicle or trailer at the time of the offence; you may not be liable if, before the payment due date, you complete an Operator Owner Onus Form and nominate the person who was in charge of the motor vehicle or trailer at the relevant time of offence.

If it is your prefence to have the matter dealt with by a Court, you may complete Part B – Application for Action by a Court.  You should sign and date this document and return it to: PO Box 264, Morwell VIC 3840.
 

How to contest a fine

If you believe the circumstances relating to the offence were exceptional circumstances or you believe the infringement is contrary to law the following options are available;

Contest a fine

Complete and return the application to waiver an infringment form within 28 days from the date the infringement was issued.

Elect to go to court

Should you wish to have the matter heard in court please complete and return the Application to have the matter heard in court 

Please note:
This application should only be made after an application for an internal review of the infringement has been processed.

Failure to take any action on an infringement will result in additional legal fees and the matter will be referred to the Infringements Court resulting in possible conviction.
