A Guide for Committees

Updated September 2009

In Latrobe we have a tradition of community service, which sees our community of 72,000 served by approximately 600 sporting, social, and community organisations. They are, of course, all service organisations and the amount of good work undertaken by the individuals who make up these organisations should never be underestimated.

In meeting with representatives of our community organisations it became apparent that many committee members were finding it increasingly difficult to perform the myriad of office functions and statutory obligations which are required of them, while still finding the time to attend to the core function of their particular group. It was obvious that a resource manual should be found and (made available) which could provide assistance.

You will find below a link to Latrobe City's 'A Guide for Committees', which will tell you everything you need to know about successfully running a committee.
