Philip Parade to Monash Campus, including Eel Hole Creek

The precinct between Philip Parade and the Monash University campus is a key part of the Churchill Town Centre Plan. The elements of the precinct include:

• Churchill and District Community Hub
• Skate park
• CFA building
• Eel Hole Creek and surrounds 
• Latrobe Leisure Churchill
• Monash University student accommodation

A central element of the Churchill Town Centre Plan is the improvement in pedestrian links between the town centre to the west and Monash University campus and Gippsland Education Precinct to the east. In addition, the Town Centre Plan aims to improve the frontage to Eel Hole Creek, increase visual surveillance and the perception of safety, improve the entry to Latrobe Leisure Churchill, and upgrade open space.

Planning for the precinct will embrace the Art and Culture Trail, currently being planned by a Steering Group hosted by the Gippsland Education Precinct. Link to Making Our Way report.

Philip Parade to Monash Campus Master Plan

Latrobe City Council is working towards preparation of a master plan for the Philip Parade to Monash Campus precinct during the first half of 2012. CPG has been appointed as consultants to build on existing work, consult with the community, and prepare designs to guide development and seek funding opportunities.

CPG has established a website to provide information and seek feedback on the Master Plan.
